Title: Effect of biosynthesised ZnO nanoparticles on Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a multidrug resistant organism
Abstract: Because plants are environmentally friendly, using them to make nanoparticles has several advantages over using other methods. Utilizing plants or parts of plants to create nanoparticles is not only economical but also environmentally friendly. The current study focuses on the biosynthesis of ZnO NPs using Butea monsoperma seed extract and their impact on the quorum-mediated virulence factors of multidrug-resistant clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa at sub minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC). Different methods, including Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray (EDX), and transmission electron microscopy, were used to characterize the synthesized ZnO NPs (TEM). According to TEM analysis, the nanoparticles had an average size of 25 nm. P. aeruginosa’s production of virulence factors like pyocyanin, protease, and hemolysin was reduced by ZnO NPs at sub MIC levels (p 0.05). According to TEM analysis, the interaction of NPs with P. aeruginosa cells at concentrations below the MIC resulted in greater accumulation of nanoparticles inside the cells.
