Description
Title: Asian Frog Host Defense Peptides as Potential Clinical Therapies
Abstract: As infectious microbes develop drug resistance, host defense peptides (HDPs) are currently one of the main research areas in medicine. They have a unique primary target in biological membranes, and their peculiar mode of action makes them effective against pathogens that are multi-drug resistant. Despite the characterization of HDPs from 60 Asian frog species belonging to 15 genera, this field of study is still in its infancy. This review’s objective is to present the state of peptide research in Asia. An overview of HDPs from Asian frogs is given here.
