Title: Can we advise our patients to use electronic cigarettes? 1 opinion
Abstract: The negative effects of electronic cigarettes (or “e-cigarettes”) have recently come under discussion. Even some people believe they are just as harmful as regular cigarettes. However, this has not been proven, and theoretical presumptions imply that e-cigarettes should be unquestionably less harmful since tobacco is not burned when using them, producing harmful substances, particularly carcinogens. Although it hasn’t been proven, some premises make the assumption that e-cigarettes could be used as a brand-new type of nicotine replacement therapy. Therefore, more research is needed to determine whether using e-cigarettes is safe or harmful. This essay only offers arguments in favor of suggesting electronic cigarettes to nicotine addicts.
