Description
Title: Eosinophilic COPD is a unique form of the condition.
Abstract: Neutrophil-induced bronchial inflammation has historically been linked to chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Eosinophils can move into the lower airways of COPD patients, according to studies from the early 1990s, and their increased numbers can be seen both during exacerbations and stable disease. A specific pattern of airway inflammation, a distinctive clinical course, or susceptibility to corticosteroid therapy are just a few of the distinctive characteristics that define the eosinophilic phenotype of COPD. We provide a current review of the literature on the clinical traits of eosinophilic COPD and the function of eosinophils as a biomarker-guided therapy in COPD in this article.
