Description
Title: Application of AHP for Subnational Weighting of Sustainable Development Indicators
Abstract: In order to create composite indices that can be used to evaluate sustainable development at the subnational level, this article introduces an indicator weighting method. The study employs an analytical hierarchy process (AHP), which is thought to be pertinent because it creates connections between the metrics that make up the various sustainable development objectives (SDG). The Aburrá Valley region in Antioquia, Colombia, is being evaluated for its progress toward sustainable development using 28 indicators that experts have defined. The findings show that while environmental indicators received the most reduced weights, health, employment, and education indicators received higher weights. The model also demonstrates consistency using a consistency ratio, opening up the possibility of replication at various subnational levels.
