Title: Individual employee performance, high-involvement human resource management techniques, and leadership styles in small and medium businesses in the digital age
Abstract: This study looks into the connections between effective leadership, hands-on human resource management techniques, and worker performance. In order to explain leadership styles in the digital age, we adopt servant, shared, and empowering leadership in this study. We create a research framework and put forth four hypotheses. From November 2021 to January 2022, we create a self-report questionnaire, distribute it online to 300 targeted respondents, and collect 276 complete responses. This study employs a quantitative approach, structural equation modeling, which is managed by SPSS and AMOS. The findings show evenly distributed data, and each of the three variables’ indicators is reliable and valid. The validity and dependability of the indicators are confirmed by the use of CFA. The GoF analysis confirms that SMEs can implement the research model. The analysis of the hypotheses reveals that H1 and H3 are accepted, but H2 and H4 are rejected. Individual employee performance and highly involved human resource management techniques are positively impacted by leadership styles in SMEs operating in Lubuklinggau. The relationship between leadership styles and individual employee performance is not mediated by high-involvement human resource management.
