Description

Title: Top management support and self-efficacy as predictor factors are two factors influencing the continuation intention to use accounting information systems in Jordanian SMEs from the perspectives of UTAUT.

Abstract: This study’s main goal is to describe the variables that affect accountants’ continued intention to use an accounting information system (AIS) in the context of Jordanian small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs). Since accountants are the primary AIS users, gauging their adoption of the system and usage is essential to determining how successfully it has been implemented. A cross-sectional survey of SMEs that have fully implemented an AIS was conducted for the study. The extended unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) model and top management support serve as the foundation for the study’s proposed framework (TMS). The findings showed that TMS had a significant and detrimental impact on accountants’ continued intention to use AIS, while the examined variables—effort expectancy, performance expectancy, and facilitating conditions—had a positive impact on that intention. The significant relationship between social influence and continuation intention was also discovered, confirming the necessity of supporting AIS among SMEs. The study’s findings support the UTAUT theory because they established the study framework’s measurement accuracy in the context of Jordanian SMEs and supported the effects of TMS on continuance intention to use.
