Title: Supply Chain Management Blockchain Platforms: An Exploratory Analysis
Abstract: Globally, the adoption of blockchain technology is increasing, including in the supply chain and logistics industry. Supply chains are predicted to change as a result of its proliferation. To learn more about the causes of and obstacles to adoption, academic research is required. Examining the blockchain (BC) platform and its inputs in terms of technological solutions is the goal of this study. Research also focuses on how blockchain technology can be used to manage supply chain (SC) business processes like shipment tracking, authenticity, and identification. Three methods of investigation were used in this study to examine the problem. To create a research framework for the comparative analysis of BC platforms and identify the advantages and challenges of blockchain adoption, experts were interviewed. A qualitative comparative analysis was used to compare blockchain platform providers in relation to the technology’s adoption. We examined the market for blockchain supply chains by component, provider, type, and usage circumstances. The Forbes TOP 50 companies were examined as part of this research to determine where they applied blockchain technology and what advancements they made. The companies were analyzed by business sector, nation of origin, application area, and benefits. The findings showed that the use of blockchain in certain industries’ supply chains has outstanding advantages in terms of transparency, dependability, cost effectiveness, and traceability. This gives businesses an advantage in terms of implementation costs, technological requirements, human resources, legal environments, volatile costs, and security. Ethereum and Hyperledger Fabric are the most popular blockchain platforms in the supply chain. The application and advantages of BC in SC were examined for their practical implications, and the results show the traceability, sustainability-related, cost, and benefits that save time.
