Title: Political ties as a moderating factor in the power actor and madrasah performance
Abstract: The characteristics of the leaders have emerged as the key factor in enhancing an institution’s performance theory against the backdrop of public sector management reform in the field of education; this study investigates the relationship between madrasah performance and factors related to madrasah heads (such as their age, education, and tenure) in Islamic educational institutions in East Java, Indonesia. This study demonstrates how political ties enhance the beneficial effects of the head’s tenure and age on madrasah performance. The formal education of the madrasah head has a positive effect on madrasah performance, but political connections do not increase this effect.
